Home Stay in Goa

Affordable basic stay in Goa. With no frills. and light on the pocket. This is a 1 bhk (bedroom / Hall / Kitchen ) apartment that is let out by the owners for 2-3 days to visiting tourist. Located in the south of Goa, in a village called Majorda. The accomodation is 3 kms from the beach. The settings are full of greenery and ideal for a quite holiday. during peak. Taxi services are easily arranged by the owners. While most people go to Goa during the Nov to May. Goa is quite enjoyable during the Rains. When the paddy fields are all green. The whether is cool (and wet) not hot and humid like the rest of the year. The beaches are empty and all to yourself.
Do write to me and i will be more than pleased to inform you the contact details of the owners.

Journey to Goa by Road

We finally decided to go to Goa by road. Then the discussions and arguments on which route to be taken. The options are NH14 from Panvel to Goa or go to Pune via the expressway then hit the NH4, all the way to Nipani which is just after Kolhapur. Then take the right and get of the NH4 for the road to sawantwadi and Goa. All the information is gathered from friends , and maps. We finally decided on the longer option ( by 80 kms) via Kolhapur Reason being that 450 kms out of the 650 kms is on very good concrete roads. The balance 15o is through a little narrow roads.

The road is very picturesque and the drive, though long is very comfortable and soothing! Monkeys on the road, a waterfall to stop by, Exciting ghats with a 100 hair pin bends, farmers on their bullock carts loaded with freshly cut sugarcane. Wow!!

Flowers and Tomatoes

There is hardly any space to grow plants in a our flat in Thane which is a city to the north east of Mumbai. A full fledged garden is a wish but the desire to have my own flowers for my Altar made me use the little space on the window sill. Went through the round of shopping for appropriate vases and sand ( This has to be purchased!!) and the plants. After much tending the hibiscus gives regular flowers and the Bogonvilla is always in bloom.

Encouraged by this sucess we planted some seeds from a spoilt tomato and low- and -behold, a few weeks latter i had my very own personal tomato on my window sill. What a feeling it was!
